Sarah has danced at Bohaty's since she was seven years old. She has been the director of the preschool program for 16 years. Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a Master’s in special education. She also has her early childhood, autism spectrum disorder and emotional impairment endorsements all from SVSU. Teaching dance to the littles is Sarah’s passion. She is excited to start the 2024-2025 dance year and see all her little dancers again.
Candy started at Bohaty’s School of Dance at age 5. At 18, she went off to work her first professional dance gig on the island of Aruba. She went on to work many dance jobs including but not limited to Disney Cruise line, Holland America Cruise line, and Broadway tour of Contact in the lead role of 'The Wife'. Candy also worked in South Korea as an Edutainer where she wrote and performed in original children's musicals, created story time and a variety of programs to help children speak English. This was her favorite job and where she met her husband! Candy has choreographed Spamalot, Young Frankenstein, and Hairspray at Pit & Balcony Theatre in Saginaw. She has been teaching musical theatre for over a decade and created the T3 (Triple Threat Theatre) program. She graduated with an Education degree from CMU majoring in Earth Science and minoring in dance.
Jennifer has an MBA from the University of Louisville and an undergraduate degree from Alma College where she was a member of the Alma College Dance Company. Jennifer danced at Bohaty's School of Dance for 14 years, taught at the Kathy Francis studio in Alma, has choreographed several musicals and led the Danscape youth company at the Midland Center for the Arts. She spent 15 years as a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor. Jennifer teaches tap classes and helps students prepare for competition. Jennifer works at Dow as MobilityScience Commercial Vice President.
Karolyn's love of dance was instilled in her and her sisters by their mother growing up. Karolyn went on to dance around the world performing in places like Egypt, the Arctic, Germany, and Montreal to name a few. After their own professional careers, each of the Bohaty sisters opened their own dance studios in Saginaw, Owosso, Chesaning, and St. John’s, respectively. Bohaty’s School of Dance became a well recognized studio throughout the United States and was on Dance Spirit and Dance Magazine’s very first list of the 50 most outstanding studios in the US and Canada.
Lauren began her training with Lorraine Peltonen and at Young People’s Ballet Theatre, then studied dance at the collegiate level at Oakland University, Western Michigan University, and the University of Michigan. Lauren holds an Advanced level certification in the Nan Giordano Certification Program® for jazz technique, a Progressing Ballet Technique (L3) certification, and holds her Cecchetti Council of America teacher certification through Grade II.
Skylar started dancing with Bohaty’s at the age of 3 and taught for many years at both Bohaty’s School of Dance and Kim’s Dance Dynamics. She has experience in tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and acro. She has been an ensemble member in several productions at the Lebowsky Center for Performing Arts in Owosso including Shrek, The Addams Family, and Beauty and the Beast. She graduated from CMU with a degree in English education and now works in marketing.
Kaylee’s fondest childhood memories revolve around her 15 years of dancing at Bohaty’s and Kim’s Dance Dynamics. She continued her dance career on Michigan State’s dance team supporting MSU’s football, basketball and volleyball teams and competing at UDA jazz and hip hop nationals. Most recently Kaylee became a barre code instructor in 2021.
Brooke's love for dance began at the age of three, like many of your little ones starting out! She danced until graduation under the instruction of Bohaty’s. Throughout her 15 years of dance, she enjoyed performing many styles, including; Tap, Jazz, Ballet/Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Acro/Gym. Brooke is eager to be able to share her passion and knowledge with our dancers.
