The Edge leverages the Al Gilbert tap technique series and offers grades 1-9. Our classes focus on broadway and rhythm tap styles. Tap classes focus on precision, rhythm and musicality.
Jazz classes at The Edge are a mix of Giordano and Adapt jazz techniques. Jazz dance classes are exciting and versatile, blending elements of ballet, modern dance, and lyrical.
Ballet is a classical dance form known for its graceful and precise movements, strong technique, and elegant aesthetic. The Edge offers graded Cecchetti Ballet classes along with non syllabus ballet. Ballet technique emphasizes proper body alignment, turnout of the legs from the hips, and control of movements that are the foundation for all dance.
Pointe in ballet refers to a specific technique where dancers dance on the tips of their toes using pointe shoes. It's a hallmark of classical ballet and requires a high level of strength, technique, and years of
specialized training.
Artistic gymnastics emphasizes both the difficulty of skills performed and the artistic presentation, including choreography, expression, and musicality in floor routines. Students will gain flexibility, control and strength in movement in gymnastics arts classes.
Contemporary dance is a dynamic and expressive dance form that emerged in the mid-20th century and continues to evolve today. It incorporates elements from various styles of dance, including ballet, modern dance and jazz. Contemporary dance offers a platform for dancers to express themselves creatively while

Lyrical dance is a style that blends elements of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. It is known for its expressive and emotional qualities, often set to music with lyrics that inspire the choreography
and storytelling.
Hip hop dance originated as a form of street dance, evolving from diverse influences including breaking, locking, popping, and funk styles. Each style within hip hop dance has its own distinctive movements
and techniques.
Musical theater classes provide a comprehensive training experience for aspiring performers who are passionate about acting, singing, and dancing in a theatrical context. Students learn songs and scenes from a variety of musicals, exploring different styles and periods in musical theater history. Musical theater dance
incorporates various styles including jazz, tap, ballet, and contemporary dance. Classes teach fundamental dance techniques, choreography, and how to express character and story through movement.
Triple Threat classes focus on developing skills in three key areas of musical theater performance: singing, acting, and dancing. The triple threat class aims to provide a well-rounded training experience that prepares students to excel in all aspects of musical theater performance. Students will have the opportunity to
perform as soloist and in groups.
